Tea Parties

February 27, 2009

It all seems to have started simply enough: CNBC commentator Rick Santelli on the floor of the Chicago Merchantile Exchange. As he gets fired up, the traders around him join in.

Somebody called that Rick Santelli’s Tea Party and now it has sparked a Tea Party movement around the country, many events scheduled for today.

This is a true grass-roots movement, not an activist-inspired and Soros-bankrolled “protest” like we see from the left. It’s using twitter and Facebook and the web–just as techo-saavy as anything we’ve seen in the last election cycle. And (I could almost say “of course”) the Republican Party doesn’t have a clue about what’s going on.

This is amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it. This could be 1774.
