Colorado State Budget and Spending

October 8, 2010

Here are three graphs that I’ll be discussing with Rep Kent Lambert on Saturday, 9 October on Reclaim the Blue Radio. The first is from the Joint Budget Committee:

The second is from the Independence Institute, and compares the projected spending of the Colorado Children’s Health Plan with the actual spending:

The third is from the Colorado Department of Labor and shows the decrease in private sector jobs from December 2008 to the present, along with the parallel rise in public sector jobs. Note that the public sector jobs include all government jobs in Colorado (federal, state and local). Thus the bump in May 2010 was for temporary census workers:

These graphs are a sampling of how the Democrats have mismanaged the state budget and caused destructive effects on the economy. Vote them out on November 2nd before they can continue to do more damage!

Thank you for the graphs. The Private vs. Public sector graph is really enlightening.

I would appreciate it if you would do a post on our Pueblo Voters’ Guide. I don’t expect you to agree with everything, in fact, I would appreciate your perspective.

    Best regards,
