In the U.S. Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid is the target of our ire for running roughshod over our liberties and destroying the economy through reckless spending. He’s going to lose his job in a couple of weeks and good riddance.
In the Colorado State Senate we have our own local version in Senate majority Leader John Morse. One might call him Harry Reid’s Mini-Me.
At the end of this year’s legislative session in May, Morse wrote that he was proud of the legislature’s accomplishments. These accomplishments included passing the “Dirty Dozen” tax increases which he labeled “fees.” He eliminated the senior property tax exemption, then had the governor come down to Colorado Springs to sign a bill giving seniors discounted admission to state parks. Not exactly what I’d call a good deal.
Morse believes he’s a leader. He quoted that great political thinker Roslyn Carter: “A great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go but ought to be.” This is exactly the plan progressives have for America: they’re going to take us where they think we should be going because they’re smarter than we are and they know what’s good for us.

Time to get rid of both Reid and his Mini-me. On Saturday I’ll be interviewing his replacement, Owen Hill.
